My apologies

just want to say sorry there haven't been many posts. Once we had a hotel with the wifi down, that through me behind. Then when I started to write the entries via phone and save them so I could post them all at once. It didn't save the first one I wrote earlier in Texas. Because there was no kind of internet connection.

Then we get into our hotels around 6 and 7ish. Be exhausted, go eat, come back and fall asleep. But not before planning on where to stay the next night. Needless to say I fell behind and quick.

So I will either stay up and do them all tonight when in New Orleans or do them tomorrow once we get in to Fort Walton Beach at our extended stay hotel.

There will be more to come. Plus thr updates on the house stuff as well. Tomorrow won't be the last day for enteries. =)

Day 3 - Albuquerque to Carlsbad

Yesterday was one of the best days of the trip. I think we enjoyed ourselves at Carlsbad Caverns the most. But before we got to Carlsbad we made a trip to Roswell from Albuquerque. I will say that the Quality Inn hotel experience sucked but I am thankful for for the lady at the front desk. She was very nice.
So we headed out tp Roswell. We had been told that the Intermational UFO Museum was very small but we decided to do it anyways. It was somewhat small but there was a lot to read about the first UFO experience. So much so that it got late before we knew it. We had to get out of there, grab lunch and burn rubber to Carlsbad Caverns.

Luckily we got there in enough time and we were able to walk around the entire Big Room. Mike was doing his best to get pictures. It was a really awesome experience. I wasn't expecting it would be that huge inside.
Once we had walked around, we decided it was time to head to the hotel. I had booked us at a hotel called Trinity Hotel the night before. It is located in the heart of Carlsbad (the city). It is an old hgistoric building which was once the towns main bank. It was a beautiful room!

I have pictures that I will be posting soon from all of our adventures. Plus all the rooms. This place did have wi-fi which helped me out for planning the next route. More like the next hotel which would be in San Antonio. But back to the hotel. We stayed in room 207 and man was it fancy. It had a leather fold out couch, super comfy plush queen bed, and huge bathroom. I fell in love with the bathroom. I think Mike loved the bed because he only left it for us to go out and eat.

We then headed downstairs for dinner at the Trinity Restaurant. This was a great little place to eat. I even had the fight of New Mexico Wines from Luna Rossa Winery. Yummy! Have to find those in Florida. So I had the salmon for dinner, Mike had the ravioli. So that was our amazing night.

--------------------

Also I had tried writing my day 3 post and had it saved as a draft on my phone and Gmail, but I think because there was no connection it did not save it. So that will be coming as well as tonight's. I'm going to get those online tonight and the pictures once I get to Florida. I simply cannot keep up with all of this. We're doing at least 8 to 9 hours of traveling a day.

And the picture shown above is of the magnet we got for my mom in Roswell.

Lots of driving (Day 1)

(This was actually supposed to be a post from yesterday but for some reason it never posted. There will be another one today from today's adventures)

Hey everyone! Sorry for not posting earlier but it's been a long day of driving and we're even done yet! This morning we got a somewhat early start and headed out to breakfast at this local country hippie cafe in Joshua Tree, right outside of Joshua Tree National Park. Its called Crossroads Cafe and it was so awesome. It looked awesome and had great food. I had the Vegan Sunrise and the medium fresh squeezed OJ. If you are ever in the area go to this place. They serve meat as well as Mike was able to get a meal which had eggs, toast, 4 strips of bacon and potatoes. The picture you see above is actually from the girl's restroom. It had Native American style paintings on the walls with a rock like color and the ceiling is a blue sky with painted clouds.

Upon finishing breakfast we needed to get a move on the road, so we went through Joshua Tree all the way out to the 10E. Mike loved that long and winding road. I had ended up falling asleep during that portion of the car ride because of winding but woke up on the last portion of it. We took he 10E all the way to the 17N, after of course finding out we could have taken a better route with much nicer scenery, Oh well now we know for next time. Once we got near Phoenix, we got out for lunch at a local Carl's Jr. Then we were headed up to Prescott for J & G Sales where Mike could pick up things for his guns. From there we stopped at a local Starbucks to relax for a bit since the only place left was to go a hotel in Flagstaff.

I'll tell you this, I did not know that Prescott and Flagstaff where on the top of mountains. It led for beautiful scenery and lower temperatures, woohoo! We arrived into Flagstaff, grabbed a room and found out that there was a local brewery/restaurant called Beaver Street Brewery. We hit that as soon as we ould tear ourselves away from the tv where the most recent episodes of Deadliest Catch were on and they were showing Phil Harris being in the hospoital. It was a hard thing to watch. Really good food and drinks here as well. We also took a portion of Route 66 to get to it, but on the way to Route 66 we were thwarted by 2 trains coming either way. Lucky for us they weren't that long. What an exciting day.

And because the sun came up sooo amazingly early up here in Flagstaff, I had decided to go back to writing this since my phone ate my post and I didn't know about it until sooner.

-------------

Also I have a question/request from my readers, when you look at the right handside, do you see a slideshow of my pictures (like the ones found in my folder through Picasa) or are they simply random images. Via my preview I get other people's random images and I just wanted to see if that was a default setting on my account. Thanks all.

Hi from AZ-89!

What was Kaibab National Forest. Though we're now on the I-40.

Day 0-- done!

So today was a fun day. We got packed up early and then had checked out of Torrance by 3:30pm. Then it was straight to Joshua Tree. We made it here early at the Joshua Tree Inn on Twentynine Palms Highway. It is such a quiant, kitchie and folky place. I love it! I am very glad I picked this place. I will be uploading some pictures tomorrow night probably. The first thing we had done upon getting into the room, was change to go hop in the pool. Oh it was so needed when it was close 110 outside.

We then went out for dinner to an awesome little restaurant/bar/biker bar that the guy that checked us in had recommended it. I am also very glad we did this. We went to Pappy & Harriet's Pionneertown and were there for open mic night.

Well it's time for bed, we need to get up around 6:30am tomorrow in time to get on the road. We'll be passing through Joshua Tree National Forest and up to the Meteor Crater and then to Flagstaff to stay the night.

Goodbye Everyone!

As we see Cthulhu is ready to hit the road. There is Mike's dad in the drive way saying good bye as well.

They finished the packing right before 1. They were super quick. Also had my parents and brother stop by to say good bye.

Now I'm head to close down my Chase account, eat lunch at Burnt Tortilla and hit the road.

It has begun

So the packing has started and we're just getting the finishing items into the car. I'm wondering how long it will take them to pack all of this up.

My parents are coming to visit in a couple of hours. After which we need to grab lunch and go to the bank so that I can close my chase account. They may be on the east coast but in Fort Walton Beach as far as I can tell.

Helping out

This is Cthulhu, a knit elder creature from my twitter buddy Beth. He was helping me pack the car. I am nearly complete with that but still have to pack my suitcase.

On contemplating what was going in it, I came to a quick realization that my gaming books and dice are for sure going in there. Quite possibly a comic or 2 as well.

Ok time to break for dinner.

The day before (Day -1)

So the move is tomorrow. Today is our last day to get everything ready and packed into the car. I have to do some more laundry tonight and towels, as well as dishes. I still have to pack my clothes for at least 8 or 9 days, put some of the last things away into my backpack and suitcase.

I need to unpack the car from this weekend's adventures and camping, then repack it with the road trip stuff.

Pictures will be posted along the way, whenever we come to a place that has free wi-fi or internet. Which should be a random Starbucks.
